Shopping in Vang Vieng

While most day-to-day necessities that you may need to buy can be found at the local market (2km north of Vang Vieng town centre), Luang Prabang and Vientiane offer far more variety for items such as handicrafts and souvenirs.

Don't waste your time shopping for souvenirs in Vang Vieng! Get outdoors and enjoy yourself, perhaps on one of our Vang Vieng tours!

Rather than using this Vang Vieng Shopping Guide, check out our Luang Prabang Shopping Guide or Vientiane Shopping Guide to see what awaits for you in either of these cities in terms of things to buy. You may be able to find some of the local Laos products mentioned in the Laos Shopping Guide while you are in Vang Vieng, however the quality or price will often be worse than in either of the two larger cities previously mentioned.

The market north of town may be interesting if you wish to see a slice of local Vang Vieng life, or may also be useful in order to pick up some cheap food. Or you could just visit one of the many Vang Vieng Restaurants!
