Vang Vieng Island Tour
Tour details
Pickup is at 9:30am from VLT Office in Vang Vieng (located on the main road running parallel to the river, just after Ban Sabai Bungalows on the left hand side) or alternatively VLT Natural tours will collect you from your hotel or guesthouse.
Vang Vieng Island Tour
Spend a lazy day relaxing and taking in the mountainous scenery as you slowly drift around the Ngam Ngum Lake. Visit the special Fishermans Island and learn how the local fishermen catch fish and spend their day.
Have a chance to go swimming in the clear waters of the Lake, give fishing a go and put to practise what you learnt from the fishermen. Visit a hilltribe village that lies on the banks of the Ngam Ngum Lake and wander around the local market before heading back to Vang Vieng.
Your trip starts at 9:30 am from either your guesthouse or the VLT Natural Tours Office in Vang Vieng. You will then be transported to Tha Haue Village that lies on the northern most point of the Ngam Ngum Lake and your boat for the day (only an hour or so away from Vang Vieng).
The first stop is Fisherman’s Island where you will have the opportunity to explore and observe the Lao fishermen working. Then it’s back to shore for a glimpse of the natural mountain scenery before a short boat ride to the second Island of the day where lunch awaits you.
In the afternoon there will be opportunities to go swimming or do a spot of fishing in the clear waters of the lake. There will also be a visit to the hill tribe village that sits on the shore of the lake, here you will have the chance to gain a unique insight in to their lifestyle.
Finally its back to Tha Haue Village where you will be able to explore the local food market before it is time to head back to Vang Vieng.

Please do not give individual gifts of sweets or money to children. Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items. Help keep the trails clean by not littering. Please purchase handicrafts but do not purchase antiques. Do not remove any archaeological remains from the site of the ancient temples. Stay with the guides at all times. Do not use drugs.
