Vilayvong Guesthouse
Sustainability
Mrs Vanh was born and raised in Vang Vieng and has grown up with an extended family all involved in the tourism businessindustry leaving her with impertinant skills to own and manage Vilayvong Guesthouse with her husband.
Beautiful and confident, Mrs Vanh is a young lady who studied in Vang Vieng for four years and Vientiane for one year. Fluent in English and always happy to help guests, Mrs Vanh loves the tourism industry and is proud of her new Vang Vieng guesthouse.
Married very young, she is the mother to a 7 year old boy who you will see playing in the garden. This family run business will ensure you feel comfortable on their property.
Caring for destination
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Vilayvong Guesthouse works on being a sustainable tourism business through community focus and work with the local primary school.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Vilayvong Guesthouse regularly donates money, materials and labour to fix and maintain Vang Vieng Primary School.
As the school which the owners son attends, it is important that education is provided in a comfortable, well maintained building and with appropriate materials.
Vilayvong Guesthouse has helped build the primary school and in 2009 contributed money to fix tables, repair the leaking roof and for general costs associated with management and running of the school, including education materials.

on 08 Jul 2010 The staff were very happy to help with any local queries and to organise our onward journey for us.

on 05 Apr 2010 I didn't really see any evidence one way or another - it was sort of an unemotional hotel - very little interaction between staff and guests, quiet and sort of a blase feel... but perhaps we missed seeing this b/c we were only there one night?
