Birdsong and butterflies abound in D'Rose Resort @ Vangvieng's well kept grounds, with the beautiful large butterflies giving the resort and rooms their name. You can splash into the swimming pool, swim in the clean river or even wade across to nearby riverside bars or if you'd prefer to keep dry you can stroll down the road to them instead. Or you can simply just stay put and relax on loungers and watch river life go by. The Lao style bungalows are about 5 minutes walk along small lanes from Vang Vieng's main street.

D'Rose Resort @ Vangvieng is an oasis in itself with each bungalow having a private balcony and the large grounds being home to a swimming pool, riverside sala, restaurant and bar, volleyball court, patong court and even a pair of cheeky monkeys to keep you entertained or turtles to admire.

The people who run The Cocoon are heavily invested in the local community and are working with locals to manage the noise and pollution of the loud music in Vang Vieng. They also have a number of local animals that they look after that the Temple can no longer support.
