Traveller Comments:
"We were happy with the bungalows, construction next door didn't bother us too much even though we had a bugalow within meters of the construction."
Mr. Andrew O. - Australia on 24/05/2010
"The standard rooms have a bathroom that is way too small."
Ms. Irene A. - Spain and Canary Islands on 28/04/2010
"I was staying in Ban Sabai Bungalows in Vang Vieng for two nights. Housekeeping cleaned up my room on my second day of stay and accidently removed my own shampoo from the toilet. I reported it to the manager, but his reaction was appalling that he instantly denied of the incidence without having any investigation and stressed that his staffs are "perfect" and had never made a single mistake. I couldn't believe my ears and I explained to him that some of the complimentary toiletries was missing and some was only half filled like it hasn't been replaced when I checked in to reflected that no one could be perfect and sometimes made mistakes, he still emphasised that he has never had a single problem in his superintendence. Afterall, he has never seeked for any investigation before his reply to my feedback, of course, without a single apology. I was despaired and didn't want to carry on with this conversation, but I strongly recommend this manager to having a course on how to handle customers, that's what he need imminently."
Ms. Agnes L. - Hong Kong on 28/03/2010
"Overall a great place to stay in Vang Vieng. Service is a little average but nothing bad. Location is excellent and views of the river and mountains are amazing"
Mr. Lee S. on 23/02/2010
"Really nice, peaceful place. Shame about the monstrosity being built next door."
Mrs. Barbara P. - Canada on 22/02/2010
"We have enjoyed the stay in that hotel very much! It is nicly located at the river, so that we could have breakfast just above the river. Very relaxing little balcony with a splendid view."
Mr. Reinhold W. - Germany on 16/01/2010
"Everything is growing, so is Vang Vieng and its tourism facilities. Seen from our personal point of view it has been a little bit spoiling, that there has been noisy work in progress at a new big hotel building close to the Ban Sabai Bungalows. But that can't be seen as a fault of the Ban Sabai Bungalows itself. The view from the restaurant terrace across the Nam Song is just great!!!"
Mr. Jürgen S. - Germany on 04/12/2009
"Just came back. Unfortunately, I was put in the room next to construction site. (They are building a guesthouse next to my room.) From, my balcony, in stead of enjoying the mountaion view, I saw construction site, and did not feel safe. Both noise from restaurant next to my room and workers talking and watching TV at night kept me up. I stayed there only one night, then transftered to another hotel near this guesthouse where I find it more peaceful and better view."
Ms. Nattaya H. - Thailand on 27/10/2009
"Terrible accommodation - mouldy, bats in room. Definitely not value for money and service was appalling. Worst place stayed in whole of SE Asia travels"
Ms. Nina O. - Uruguay on 29/08/2009
"The accommodation Ban San Sabai Bungalow is very charming and tranquil, peaceful. except it's pretty wet and damp when it rains, all the towels are wet and also some flood."
Ms. chinda t. - Thailand on 10/07/2009
"Ban Sabai seemed like an upscale place to stay at in Vang Vieng, but unfortunately our overall impression of this place was that the town got corrupted by the backpacker industry and therefore there was no way of enjoying any accommodation in the town centre. Even in the so-called more remote area of Ban Sabai there was deafening loud music during the night despite the curfew. The riverview of the hotel is nonetheless stunning. Skip Vang Vieng if you'd like some rest and quietness between 1 and 3am..."
Mr. Frederik K. - Belgium on 24/02/2009
"Could improve the hot water pressure and the there was a pool in the central area that seemed to have a fountain that wasn't working. The front desk was very rarely manned. But other than that, a wonderful hotel. We thought it was very atmospheric and had a great time in our beautiful bungalow!"
Mr. Daniel P. - United States on 11/01/2009
"For Cleanliness topic, the room cleanliness is quite good. But somehow, the breakfast zone and relax zone near the the river is look dirty :( It is not comfortable for me to laid down on the beach chair. "
Ms. Siriya Y. - Thailand on 29/10/2008
"This is a lovely place where we enjoyed breakfast or a late afternoon drink with a wonderful view on the river and the karts. It is very quiet. Rooms are well kept and clean. Definitely recommend this place. However, I would not book bus ticket from there as it is more expensive than elsewhere in town."
Mrs. Thuy Mai L. - Canada on 29/09/2008
"Overall i was disappointed with our stay. The room had no television, no fridge, no internet access in hotel at all, breakfast was too basic, always waiting at reception for someone to come, too expensive compared to other places with better facilities, felt like the place was closed down and we shouldn't have been there. Good points: good location, rooms clean, mosquito net"
Ms. Linda B. - Ireland on 16/09/2008
"san sabai bungalows are well worth the extra few dollars but if you are going to be out and coming back late then let the poor chap know in reception cos he gets into his jim-jams pretty early and reception is closed."
Mr. michael m. - Ireland on 27/05/2008
"very quaint place, but the service was slightly lacking at times. The walls were a little thin, but it was a luxury bungalow experience."
Mrs. Emily G. - Canada on 20/04/2008
"Breakfast at the Ban Sabai was a bare minimum, but the bungalow was clean and very comfortable."
Mr. Stuart W. - Australia on 12/04/2008
"The hotel was beautiful and the staff excellent. What a great location and the price was extremely cheap by US standards and the quality probably higher."
Mr. Ron D. - United States on 24/03/2008
"We enjoy our stay! Great place and great view!"
Mrs. Angela H. - Germany on 16/03/2008
"THE BUNGALOWS ARE IN A GREAT SETTING. PITY THE HOTEL NEXT DOOR WAS ABLE TO BUILD OUT AND OBSCURE SOME OF THE VIEW. IT DID SEEM A TRIFLE TIGHT TO ASK YOU TO PAY FOR AN ADDITIONAL COFFEE OR TEA WITH BREAKFAST.A KETTLE IN THE ROOM TO ENABLE GUESTS TO BREW A COFFEE WOULD BE APPRECIATED"
Mr. Allan B. - Australia on 13/03/2008
"While the atmosphere was beuatiful, it was too nosiy. The bamboo walls mean that you can hear everything around you. It is like camping in a tent. Also the roosters go off at dawn for about an hour, so there is no chance of sleeping in. You can also hear the motorbikes on the road. It is not as preaceful as it was made out, which was highly diappoining. We hardly slept."
Ms. Karen H. - Australia on 15/02/2008
"nice place. friendly staff and very clean but the thatched huts make them not very sound proof. we stayed in the lower ones (deluxe ones) which were great but the huts just behind ours had their verandah right near our roof. sounded like they were sitting right in my bungaloo (when they got in late at night) so bring good ear plugs! "
Ms. Lou-Ann C. - Canada on 13/02/2008
"The bungalows and the location on the river front were memorable, and the furnishings were tasteful and understated. However the town itself is a backpacker strip. "
Ms. melanie c. - New Zealand on 10/02/2008
"The location is just amazing, waking up in teh morning lookig at teh river is beautiful and the bungalows are really really welcoming and nice. Unfortunately the town isnothing special but the surroundings are supposed to be beautiful."
Ms. valentina b. - Italy on 19/01/2008
"the garden is well maintained but the bungalows are very tired and do need renovation. the bungalows are very dark, not much natural light.
The big dissapointment was in principal the restaurant and the breakfast facilities.......offering AMB but charging too much for extra bread etc. It would be much better to have the room without breakfast and have the breakfast in a restaurant outside. . "
Mrs. Luzia K. - Singapore on 01/01/2008

Ms. Melissa W. - Australia on 01/05/2007
"Some staff lacked skill with English which can affect they way they interact and suggest/ask things which could improve your stay.
On arrival we were left to carry our bags which is OK but not what I would expect."
Mr. McFetridge R. - Australia on 22/04/2007
"Breakfast was great. Enjoyed our stay a lot."
Ms. Helen T. - Singapore on 07/04/2007
"This is a nice place with a good and normally peaceful location. Unfortunately there was noisy digging work going on in the river directly opposite the hotel. This was not the fault of the hotel of course but it did eliminate the tranquility - the main reason we chose this hotel. I would have liked to have known about this before I arrived. However the work stopped before sundown and the restaurant was a great place to watch the sunset. The food was very good, as was the service.
We were asked to pay for the hotel up front when we checked in. I did not like this but I guess it stopped us looking for another, quieter place.
The room was good but the lighting was very dim and the shower was very weak."
Mr. Stuart C. - Singapore on 19/03/2007
